Retailer Business Requirements Committee

The Retailer Business Requirements Committee has been created to guide and serve as a resource within PCATS, ensuring that technical standards are consistent with current and future retailer business requirements. This Chair of this committee is Sharon Scace of BP and the Vice Chair is Cheryl Szczesniak of The Spinx Company.

Committee members review existing PCATS standards and identify any gaps that may exist between these standards. In addition, the committee ensures that each technical committee address and consider the following:

  1. Plug-N-Play
  2. Internationalization
  3. Backward Compatibility
  4. Clear and Complete Documentation
  5. Implementation Guideline
  6. Forward Thinking (5 yr. target)
  7. Security Considerations
  8. Relevant Legal Considerations
  9. Financial Considerations
  10. PCATS Certification"

The Committee is actively soliciting additional retailers to join and help solve common business problems and those foreseeable in the future. Only with the broadest possible field of retailer membership can PCATS ensure that all of the retailer needs are being identified and the standards work assigned to the appropriate or new committee. The industry will benefit greatly as PCATS continues to meet the needs of its constituency.
